PNP

Almost all the provinces and territories in Canada welcome skilled workers and international students to help them with their economic plans. The main objective of the PNP is to broaden the economic benefits of immigration equally for all the provinces and territories.

Each province and territory have its own immigration programs that target certain groups and requirements. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is designed to enable provinces and territories to support the immigration of people who are interested in settling in their province or territory and the province or territory believes they will be able to contribute to the economic growth and development of that province or territory and Canada. Most of the PNP programs target students, businesspeople, skilled workers, and semi-skilled workers.

The general process usually includes of two steps: 1- application for nomination under one of province’s stream, 2- application for permanent residence if you have been nominated. Provinces and territories have the authority and responsibility to establish their own criteria for nomination, while Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada is responsible for making a final decision on their application for permanent residence.
