FAMILY IMMIGRATION AND SPONSORSHIP

FAMILY IMMIGRATION AND SPONSORSHIP

Canada welcomes large groups of immigrants under the sponsorship programs as family reunification is one of the pillars of Canada’s immigration system.

Family reunification has been always a priority for the Canadian government, and it was mainly introduced to keep families and loved ones together. The program allows for the sponsorship of spouses, common-law partners, conjugal partners, dependent children, adopted children, parents, grandparents, or orphaned relatives under the age of 18.

You can only sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada if you’re at least 18 years old and a:

  • Canadian citizen or
  • person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or
  • permanent resident of Canada

After your eligibility for sponsorship is assessed that you can sponsor your spouse, dependent children or other family members to become permanent residents of Canada, you must be able to support them financially and make sure they don’t need social assistance from the government.
Spousal/common in law sponsorship is one of the popular applications and it usually takes about 12 months for a spousal sponsorship application to complete. However, your application may experience delays If your application is incomplete or you have a sophisticated case, or you did not provide enough proof of your relationship.

To ensure your sponsorship application is processed as quickly as possible, we at Royan Immigration Consulting are here to help you provide a complete application.
